Credit Card Service Tax Announcement
Please be informed that effective from 1 January 2010, all credit cards (primary & supplementary*) will be imposed a service tax. This is in accordance to the recent Budget 2010 announcement to impose service tax on credit cards.
a) Service tax will be levied on the credit card's issuance date or its annual anniversary/renewal date. The levy will be reflected in your HSBC credit card statement as "Service Tax".
b) For Principle credit card, a service tax of RM50 will be levied per card
c) For Supplementary credit card, a service tax of RM25 will be levied per card
At HSBC, we always place our cardholders' needs as our top priority. With this in mind, we offer our cardholders to redeem the credit card service tax with their Reward Points :
i) 9500 Reward Points for RM50 service tax for principal card
ii) 5500 Reward Points for RM25 service tax for supplementary card
Please be in touch with our Call Centre at 1300-88-1388 if you wish to redeem the credit card service tax with Reward Points. Service tax may only be redeemed when it is charged on your statement.
In the meantime, continue to enjoy various privileges and rewards with your HSBC Credit Cards.
